True reward comes when you least expect it.

Since childhood, I had been hearing that Geeta says 'Karm karo phal ki ichha naa karo' Do you duty and don't expect any reward. It never went to my head. How can someone work without thinking of any reward.Especially in today's competitive economy. Can you think about working on something without worrying about returns. But,finally I understood its meaning.Actually this is an epitome of life. When you start working on something without looking at returns your entire energy shifts from hanging fruit to your work. That energy transforms your work from good to better and better. You become much more efficient. You start enjoying your work. That adds great value to your work. When you stop taking work as means of getting some thing back but as something you want to do,you do so much more and better. And when you give your best, reward becomes inevitable. It automatically follows you.You get beyond your expectations and that gives you the true reward-Reward of greater happiness and appreciation.

What else can you enjoy more!!

I found 'Geeta ka saar' to be very abstract..Earlier in Hindu society, 'Geeta ka saar' was used by upper caste Hindus to persuade lower caste people for selfless work...and they were paid quite less for their hardwork. For long time it was used to brainwash common people.. Even today, it does not holds true in all spheres of life..'Geeta ka saar' is a selective truth!

Hi Arya,

Your concerns are genuine and is possible that same preachings were abused by the society. But I don't think we can blame the rule.It depends on the ruler.Blame goes to the society who bends the rules in its favour.

I completely agree with you that 'Geeta' can not be implemented as it is in our current society. We need to first understand the system when it was written.Every thing has a context.Without understanding the context we can never understand the true meaning of anything.Problem occurs when someone emulates a partial system without completely understanding the fundamentals of it.

Cheers
